Do you create CAD renders before starting a bespoke piece?
Yes. The conversation starts at the counter with a sketch and your reference photos. We then use CAJD (Computer-Aided Jewellery Design) software to produce a photographic-quality render in minutes, virtually placed on your hand at the counter so you can see the proportions. Nothing is cast until you approve the render. The render is part of the design, not an upsell.
Can you remount an inherited ring using my own gold and stones?
Yes, this is one of our core lines. Bring the piece in, we will recover and assess the stones (older cuts and Edwardian or Victorian settings need careful handling), and design a new piece around them. Original gold can be melted and re-used in the new mount where you want the metal to carry forward. Five-step process: consultation, design, stone selection, workshop, finished piece.
What metals do you work in?
9ct and 18ct yellow, white and rose gold, platinum, palladium, and titanium for wedding bands. All metals stamped and hallmarked. We will talk you through the choice at the counter against the budget and the wear pattern of the ring (a hand-worker's ring is different from an evening ring).
Are your diamonds ethically sourced and certified?
Yes. All diamonds are ethically sourced and certified by internationally recognised laboratories, principally GIA and IGI. We stock lab-grown diamonds alongside mined ones as a transparent option, and the AnchorCert grading chart at the counter is what we use to talk you through the 4Cs against the stone in front of you.
Can I book a virtual appointment if I cannot get to Tunbridge Wells?
Yes. The free 30-minute jewellery-advice virtual call runs on Skype, WhatsApp or Facebook, and is available for anything jewellery or watch related. Most engagement-ring commissions still happen at the counter so we can see the hand, but the virtual call is good for first-pass design conversations, valuations and remodelling enquiries.
Where exactly are you in Royal Victoria Place?
Unit Su 49, on the upper level of Royal Victoria Place. The mall sits between The Pantiles and Tunbridge Wells station. If you are walking up from the station, take the entrance opposite Tunbridge Wells Library and we are on the right as you reach the upper deck. Plenty of mall parking; the deck above the centre is the easiest run-in.
